Where There is Love There is LIfe

Picture of Where there is Love there is Life Wall Decal Here's another  beautiful wall decal that I received from Katazoom.  This one is called Where There is Love There is Life.  The size is 22x5 and it cost $19.99.  I decided to  put it together with the  Love Bird Branch Decal.  I put this in our family room downstairs.  It lighten up the  plain wall that we have down there.

Wall Decals are the  most practical  ways you can do to  add some spark to your wall especially if you are renting where  in you are not allowed  if not being restricted  to poke holes or change the paint in your apartment.  This is something that you can do   without damaging the original state of the walls of the place you are living in.   I like it because putting it in and taking it off is very easy.

It amazes me how these little things can do to transform once room.  Doesn't it look beautiful?  You can check Katazoom through the link above or you can  like them on their Facebook page. THanks again Katazoom for the opportunity you have given me in working with you.

Sears Gift Card

I recently redeemed the points I have earned through out this year from reading email newsletter from Mypoints.  Since we are planning to buy a treadmill, I chose the  Sears  gift card so I can use it.  I like mypoints because it gives me extra shopping spree to use during Christmas time.  I usually redeemed it  during the holiday season.

If you aren't a member yet from Mypoints, you should check them out.  It's free to join, all you do is read emails that they sent you or take surveys.  When you shop through them you also get points for it.  What I love the most is the  shopping deals and discounts that I get from them.

Set a Budget for New Year

The decorations have been up for a while, the flashing lights of Christmas are fading and you are nursing a New Years bucks fizz hangover. The excitement of the old year is still fresh in your mind, but you must look forwards, to the future! The putting up of Christmas decorations normally make you look twice at the well worn furnishings you have come to know as being part of your home. Some of them may look more worn than usual, peeling at the corners or fabric fading where it has hit the sun. So you decide on embarking on a New Years home makeover!
However, it is important to remember not to get too carried away. The New Year is still buzzing with ‘newness’, and because of the New Year sales, we can sometimes get caught up in the excitement. Whether it is a trip to the local furniture superstore, or a more personal trip to a home designer, there are some simple hints and tips to keep you in the clear for New Years.

Set a budget!

A simple enough step, but one that is easy to forget about when you see how much things may have been reduced for the New Year. Set yourself a provisional budget which you should aim to keep under, and also set a ‘no higher than this’ budget, just in case you do see something that you can’t possibly live without. It’s better not to start this New Year in the negatives just to buy that recliner for dad to use when he comes over at the weekends. He’s just fine in the old rocker for now.
Take a friend!

Or a trusted older relative. Make sure you take along someone level headed, who won’t get caught up in the mad sales rush. This person can then act as your ‘voice of reason’ whenever you start thinking about getting an all purpose multi-functional combination lamp and book-holder or a stylish faux leather pouffe with built in storage space. A second opinion is also valid when looking at genuine furniture pieces and fixings for your new room in the future.

Refurbish, not resolution!

It might have been one of your New Year’s resolutions to finally turn that spare bedroom into a study, or to get rid of the lilac wallpaper in the dining room, but sit down and think about it for a moment. Don’t rush into things because you are eager to check items off your ‘to do’ list. Christmas has only just gone, and you’re probably a little out of pocket.

Don’t get too excited about the New Year sales. Approach them with a clear, calm head, as you may get caught up in buying wild and otherwise garish pieces, just because they seem like a good deal. Take your refurbishment one step at a time and don’t rush decisions. Remember, although the New Year sales may only be on for a couple of weeks or even days, you will have to look at and live in this room for many years to come!

Angel Tree Topper

I won this Angel Tree Topper  at Listia for 499 credits.  I paid  $6  for shipping.

She is now sitting on top of our tree.

I was in agony with my menstrual cramp yesterday so I redecorated our Christmas tree while my kids were in school.  I had to do something when I  have  dysmenorrhea just so my mind  and busy will be busy and forget the pain for a while.  I am done decorating inside the house.  The only regret I have is that, I did not  took the chance  to  decorate our porch when the weather was  a bit   nice.  We are in one digit right now and it's bitter cold.

Tax Season

The year 2013 is almost over. The holiday season will be over soon as well and soon enough, it will be tax season again. I am sure that most of the cpa in north carolina will be getting ready to deal with different clients again.  After  Christmas, I will be gathering the necessary documents that hubby and I  needs in filing our taxes.  I just hope that  some of the places I work with online will send our tax papers on time.  It is always the one that is holding us up whenever it's time to do our taxes.  Let us see this t year, hopefully it's different.

Football Ball

Last year, one of the  gifts we got our son for Christmas is this ball.  He loves this ball, him and his Dad always  play  with it even inside the house.

This year, EJ bought his Dad tis ball for Christmas (Lol).  Payback?  Lol.

Hubby and I were laughing because it was more for him that for his Dad lol.  I love the message in it though.  Oh KIDS,, never a dull moment.

Blake Shelton - The Voice

Did you watch the  result of "The Voice" last night?  I am sad for  Blake Sheldon as his last artist got eliminated.  At the very beginning, I predicted that  Blake is not going to win this season because of the artists that he choose during the audition process.  That was nice of Blake  though because he gave his  artist a new guitar during his last performance.  I am not sure if it was a   seagull guitar ir what kind it was.  So even if he did not win, at least he has a  beautiful remembrance from Blake.

Christmas Gifts from My Son

This is what my son got me for  Christmas.  Yeah I know,  I already opened it just because my son insisted hahaha.  He also got one of this for his Dad.

He also got me this Angel.

Thank you so much  Mr. Burrito, you're such a sweet  young man.  I hope you  stay that way, I love you Anak!

Kensie Eyewear

I like my new eyeglasses, it is not giving me   a headache whenever I uses it unlike the old one that I replaced.  What I liked about my old one though was that it had  also a prescription sunglasses  when I ordered it why is why it was expensive.  Too bad it wasn't   fit  to use anymore so I had to change it.  I am just glad that my husband's   job provides vision insurance so both hubby and I had our prescription eyeglasses for less.

My Kensie eyewear.  I only use this when I go out or I want to watch TV.  I can't use this when I am working on a computer because it makes my vision blurry.  The doctor have asked me if I want a bifocal one but I said no.

My Kids Went Shopping

Every year, the school hosts a Secret Santa Shopping for kids in  the school.  It's a way of teaching  the kids how to shop in a budget for  their loved ones.  We gave our kids  $20 each to shop.

They came home with the stuff that they got and immediately  told us to open the gifts that they bought lol.

I volunteered to help  the other Moms on the day that my  kids has to shop.  My son wanted me to help him but my daughter, being as independent as she is, she did not need any help.

They were very proud that they did not spend it all.  They  both have money left.

I must say that they were  pretty good shoppers.  I will post what they bought for us next time.

Problem Solving Products from Master Caster at Shoplet

For the month of December, Shoplet is showcasing the problem solving products  from Master Caster.  I received three products which I love including the  Rolling Wrist Rest, Microfiber gloves, and Furniture Touch-Up Kit.  I will break  down  my experience with each products below.

Rolling Wrist Rest product details from  Shoplet page
  • Master Caster Rolling Wrist Rest
  • The difference is in the roll Easily move from mouse to keyboard without lifting your wrist.
  • Independent wheel rotation allows smooth rolling in any direction
  • Ergonomically designed soft foam padding provides comfort and support while helping to reduce joint stress.

I have mentioned in my previous posts that  my wrist is  getting  thick due to constant rubbing in the computer table.  I tried using  a wrist wrap before but it gets very uncomfortable afterwards so I stopped using it.  I am so glad for this Rolling Wrist Rest from Master Caster because, I am a lot comfortable doing my job online.  Since it has  a rolling  wheel that rotates,  it is not a problem  moving your hand in any direction. This is something that  you should get if you work   in your computer everyday, just like me.  IT is a big relief on your  wrist.  This  cost under  ten dollars which is very affordable, $9.90 to be exact.

Microfiber Gloves product description from Shoplet's page:

For those who love using their   gadget outdoors, this micorfiber  gloves   is the best solution for you.  You might have experience this but  most of my gloves when I have them on, I can't use my cellphone  because it does not work on touch screen.  This gloves does the job for me.

See how easy it slides?  My other gloves does nothing when I try to unlock the touch screen of my phone but with this  microfiber gloves, it slides right off.  Now, I don't have to  take off my gloves when  I have to use my phone especially when it's so cold.  For a very low price of $6.96, your touch screen issue is resolved.

Furniture Touch-Up Kit product description from Shoplet page:

  • Master Caster ReStor-It Furniture Touch-Up Kit
  • Repairs and restores color instantly.
  • For use on furniture, floors, cabinets, paneling, woodwork, doors and more.\
  • Use filler stick to repair deep scratches, gouges, nail holes and cracks.

When you have  kids at home, like me, chances are, your furniture will have scratches and other   small nick here and there.  We have our own share so I  give the kit to hubby and he  did some repairs on our end tables and  coffee tables.

The thing that I liked the most is that, you can use it  without a mess as it is a pen.  You do not need any cloth to apply it.  Also, it dries up very quickly and you can  use it even on laminated woods just like ours.    See the difference after hubby  touched  it up?  The scratch is completely gone!

Online Shopping Convinience

Electrical parts can be a thorn in any manager or business owner's side. They're absolutely necessary, and they tend to be pricy. However, overhead can be reduced by a few means. Getting to know your supplier is one option for your electrical components, but when that isn't feasible, it's time to turn to the most universal option: looking for the appropriate parts online.

Seeking electrical components online brings a handful of benefits to anyone with a margin to increase. The following are by no means a comprehensive list, but they are the most immediately notable.

First is the benefit shopping online can bring is cost reduction. Online retailers have lower overhead in general than brick-and-mortar operations. To stay competitive, these savings are most commonly passed on to the customer. This is especially relevant when seeking industrial parts which generally don't come with 'special deals' or 'sales' to look for to take advantage of timing.

Next is availability. Shopping online puts every electrical component you can imagine at your fingertips. If one outlet doesn't have what you need, there are others. There's never any need to have something special-ordered for high filing and handling costs. This is both a convenience measure and a cost-reduction measure.

Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, is the convenience afforded by shipping. With in-person suppliers, transportation of supplies is often left to the purchaser. Purchasing online tends to use third-party shipment resources, which are often advantageous.

Electrical components can be a pain, but shopping online is an excellent option available to anyone that can't find a good deal by merit of their connections.

Badger Insinkerator

This is the new garbage disposal  that we bought for  my FIL's  kitchen sink .  Hubby tried to  install it but  the electric plug  was not working which frustrated the poor hubby.  He did not get to finish it as  our  daughter had a church commitment that day.  The next we came back and  somebody already did it so we were happy.

My husband hates  doing plumbing  jobs because  it is not his  thing but he does it anyway  as the cost of plumbing services around the  area is quite expensive.

Five Things to Consider When Designing Your Walk in Wardrobe

If you’re remodeling your bedroom, or just wanting a walk in wardrobe, there are a number of thing to consider so that you can get full enjoyment from your new space. You want it to be perfect, and you don’t want to rush the process. Make sure that your new walk in wardrobe is absolutely perfect by following these key five things.

Make Sure it’s Not Cramped

This may seem a bit obvious. However, while you’re busy making sure that you have enough room for all of your clothes, it’s important to ensure that there is enough space for you to move around in. There’s no point in having a walk in wardrobe if it’ going to be cramped and awkward. So test how much space you will need first for it to be comfortable.

Make Sure it’s Organised

Clothing is one of those things that it truly hard to keep organised. You may have it all sorted out only to find a few weeks later that your coats are no longer hanging where they are supposed to be and your shirts are in the sock drawer. Have a think about the best way for you to keep things tidy and organised, and then build the wardrobe from these ideas.

Think About the Doors

Make sure you think about the doors of your walk in wardrobe you want them to swing out rather than in, so that they don’t take up the valuable space inside. If you build your wardrobe on the same wall as your bedroom door, it will look neater if the door is left open. This way, when you walk inside your bedroom you won’t be able to see inside the wardrobe and any clutter if there is any.

Mirrors

Consider whether or not you want a mirror inside your wardrobe. It may seem like a wonderful idea, but if there is not enough light it may end up as a wasted effort. Regardless of the lighting, the windows in your bedroom will make it much easier to see outside of the wardrobe. Remember that before you decide to take the time to install a mirror.

Clutter

If your wardrobe does end up cluttered, you want it to be easily manageable. Install drawers and storage spaces that are easy to manage so that you don’t end up with things all over the floor. The easier it is for you to put something where it is supposed to go, the more likely you are to do it. As easy as it may seem at first, there are things that need to be considered before you go ahead with building your walk in wardrobe. Think about your personal habits as well as the space needed for it to be most comfortable. For more information about renovating your home, be sure to have a look at a Coral Homes Australia .
