Every year, the school hosts a Secret Santa Shopping for kids in the school. It's a way of teaching the kids how to shop in a budget for their loved ones. We gave our kids $20 each to shop.
They came home with the stuff that they got and immediately told us to open the gifts that they bought lol.
I volunteered to help the other Moms on the day that my kids has to shop. My son wanted me to help him but my daughter, being as independent as she is, she did not need any help.
They were very proud that they did not spend it all. They both have money left.
I must say that they were pretty good shoppers. I will post what they bought for us next time.
24 valuable thoughts they wrote, what's yours?:

That's the coolest thing ever! teaching kids as early as they are to know the value and how to be find gifts that has more thoughts
That's wonderful. At least your kids knows how to shop with their budget amount of money too. Good job!
a good way to train them for future growing up years, so that those values they treasure in the coming years.

They know how to budget their money. they are indeed off to a good start!
They are pretty good shoppers because they came back with a few money left in their pocket and didn't spend it all. How awesome! :)
What a fun way to help teach tem about money. My oldest's sons school used to do this as well adn I loved it.
that is such a great idea! I hope my son's school will have the same activity.:)
I love the idea of that. Your little shoppers look so delighted with what they've bought.
Teaching our kids as early as we can on how to spend money wisely is the best thing we parents can do for them. This isn't for us in the future but it is for them when the time comes that they are old enough to decide for themselves.
i missed doing this with my nieces and nephew when they were the age of your kids, they always have fun, and it challenged them, and because of that, they never became demanding for this and that for the activity taught them the value of money :)
your kids look very lovely Rose
This should be also be done here to give children practical lessons in handling money without taking out the fun.
That is definitely a good lesson to teach them what to buy and how to budget!
As they... Practice makes perfect.. ay parang mali ang adage ko .but just the same, exposing your kids to practice money management at a young age will definitely lead to success in the long run.
Sis,
They both looks nice in their uniform :-) WTG kiddos for being an awesome shopper :-) I am sure that your parents are both so proud of you. Keep it up!!!
Thats a very lesson learning program for school, in that way the kids will be able to know how to budget and to shop for love ones.
That's how we train our kids to value money sis. I'm glad you gave them the responsibility of handling their expenses.
That is so nice, Rose! At such a young age, the Burritos already know how to handle money well and its value. Must be one fun experience for them :-)
I still have to teach my kids the value of money and how to spend it wisely. Great job for instilling this early on your kids! They look so happy with their purchases!
Wow! That is a wonderful idea to teach them how to spend wisely, to budget and save! I noticed they have change too! I am amazed! I don't think I can do that. LOL.
Nice idea to not over spend the kids on a shopping.
