I decided not to buy shoes from the uniform place because it is very expensive there. A pair costs more than $40 over there and although it last for the whole year, I still think it is a bit much for school uniform shoes. I got a coupon from payless so we shopped there. My husband was hesitant to buy their shoes there because he is the type that likes to buy "branded". I am more practical. I see it as practical shopping especially for shoes. The kids feet grows faster than you can't imagine so buying branded shoes is not so practical at all. Anyhow, here are the shoes that we bought at Payless.
Gym Shoes - every year, we buy them an extra pair of shoes to use for their Gym classes. Their gym shoes are still in great condition but they can't use it anymore the next year as their feet grew bigger. Again, not practical to buy branded shoes because they only use it once a week in school. Their gym shoes stayed in school after every use so there's no way they can use it at home.
Uniform Shoes, we bought each of them a pair of uniform shoes. Ms. Burrito has extra pair that she can still use as it was a bit bigger for her feet when we bought it last year. The little mister also has an extra pair at home.
I also bought two packs of white socks which was on sale for $10 a dozen.
Then I snagged me two packs of this low foot liner which was also on sale for $5 for two.
I paid more than 80 dollars for four pairs of shoes and more than a dozen of socks. A big savings compared to buying the school shoes at the uniform place which could have cost us almost two hundred bucks if we bought it there.
I like shopping at payless...:) daming shoes...I agree with you sis...they're feet grows like a weed!
ReplyDeletePreviously, I am satisfied with buying non branded shoes, as long as its nice and comfy and affordable. But when I started to gain weight, my feet gets hurt after a long walk and my shoes won't last long. So I shifted to choose shoes that will deliver quality and same time reduced the pain and has cushion in my feet when I walk. I won't mind the cost because the shoes last more than a year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good deal, Rose. I didn't shop the payless yet. Maybe I have to go one day there.
ReplyDeleteI'm not brand conscious too. As long as it fits well and comfortable to wear then it's good for me. Besides I agree with you, kids grow fast.
ReplyDeleteHI Sarah Jean, for us adult, it would be appropriate to really choose our shoes because we use it a lot and our feet don't grow anymore but with kids, it makes really no sense to be buying name branded shoes. I learned my lesson already as we used to buy name branded ones but they grow out of it so quickly.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that it is not practical to buy branded shoes for growing kids since they easily outgrow them.
ReplyDeleteI am sure their feet grows faster that you know it. I remember, when my daughter was around your kid's age, I bought new shoes every 2 months. Her feet grew so fast..
ReplyDeletethose are cool looking shoes Rose, you are right, they are still young and growing, I could not remember using the branded shoes when I was still growing, and our feet never complain then. it is only through years of wear and tear that we eventually have higher demands for shoes.
ReplyDeletevery wise mother when it comes on choosing the right footwear for her kids, those are good kind too.
ReplyDeletelove smartfit Rose, so glad this brand is carried by Payless back home so we have a taste of quality also.. nice pairs :)
ReplyDeleteYou are just so clever Rose for being the most practical Mom in the universe! I love the shoes selections at Payless too. You watch when they grow up, they'd probably bug you to buy the branded ones kaya ngayon palang, wag ng sanayin. Hehehe!
ReplyDeleteBranded shoes, c'mon you are just weasting your bucks. Eh these children are still growing up. If hindi klumalaki ang feet nila then buying branded one is the best option
ReplyDeleteHaha! Sis, Triz has the same brand for shoes last year for school. Obviously, we both love Payless! :P I went there last weekend just to find one that's less than $10 kasi minsan, they have those prices talaga and it's worth buying. I did see a couple pairs, but not my size nor Trizs' so I didn't buy them nalang. :D
ReplyDeleteThat is so true sis! Kids are growing so fast. Like you, I am not in branded shoes also especially when they are for my daughter since her feet are getting bigger so fast. It is not really practical buying branded shoes.
ReplyDeleteChampion is a good brand. I agree with you sis, when it comes to kids' shoes, branded ones are not so practical as their feet grow fast.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes buy branded shoes for my kids, only if they are on sale and are affordable. But most of the time, I just buy shoes from department stores 'cause they are really cheaper but they are good and sturdy.
ReplyDeletePractical shopping... just like my mom. Just like every moms! :)
ReplyDeleteWow sis, that's a good deal...and I like the way you chose to be practical. Plus those shoes looks good. I've been to one Payless shop in Manila before, and I like it...I have a feeling it is same as the shops there, maybe franchise. From US. Now, kids are all happy including Mommy. :)
ReplyDeletegood deal :)
ReplyDeleteready for school na mga burritos, good luck :)
You're a very practical Mom! Buying branded shoes is just a waste of money if their feet will just outgrow it every 5 months or so. "Brand" wouldn't matter anymore if they can't use the shoes anymore right?
