Someone gave me these set of Victoria's Secret lotion last year. She said that she got these as a gift but she doesn't use scented lotion.
When I was younger, I suffered from a skin disorder called "Xeroderma", a mild form of ichthyosis characterized by abnormal dryness and roughness of the skin. Did you know how my mother treated it? Coconut milk! She would let me apply a fresh coconut milk to my skin and it really solved the problem.
Good to know!

ReplyDeleteWe used coconut butter-but I bet it's the same thing that made it better (the fat in the coconut?)
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the fresh milk that you get when you squeeze the newly scraped coconut meat.
ReplyDeleteWell skins are sometimes very delicate. I suffer sometimes from psoriasis, which starts in times of stress. It comes and goes, but I need cream as well.

Use the milk and eat the coconut while applying, the ideal remedy. Good word.
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteI suffer from eczema so am unable to use highly perfumed or scented products as they irritate my skin. Being born in the Caribbean, I have always known about the benefits of coconut oil for skin, hair & cooking, but the natural stuff can be quite expensive to buy here in the States. I have found using Palmer's Cocoa Butter helps keep the itchiness at bay. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if that's why so many skin lotions have—or say they do, anyway—coconut milk in them. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tip for skin problems. Great catch for X.
