When I first came to visit my wife's family in the Philippines, she let me experience things that she used to do when she was growing up like making flour out of soaked rice. Her brother Nick showed me how to pound it with the wooden mortar, we sifted it with this home made sifter. I was pretty impressed how they do that. I love their "sinapot" or my wife say its "maruya" in tagalog.
That's my wife's parent's former home on the background. We had this house knocked down and built a bigger one made of concrete. I had so much fun during my very first visit there.
Omgosh, are you mushing up some bananas or yams in it, John? I remember doing that thing when I was young. :) That was nice of you supporting Rose to rebuild her parent's house. :)
