When I was a child, my parents would take me fishing, during the summertime, to a place called Cherry Lake. My mom liked to fish here because a fishing license wasn't required. The other day, my family and I were in the area so took a drive by the lake to show them one of my childhood fishing holes. I was amazed that after all these years, it still looks exactly the same, just much much smaller. I said to myself, "this looks more like a pond than a lake". Tomlinson Run State Park is just up the road but the fishing is much better here. If you like trout, this is the place to fish.
I've told my kids stories about this lake and the things that I encountered here as a child. It was nice that they could finally see it for themselves so that they would have an accurate picture in their minds the next time it becomes a bedtime story topic.
I remember sitting on this old covered bench with my mom and dad over thirty years ago. It looked really old and rickety when I was a child, I'd be a little apprehensive to sit on it now...hehehe
